Pebbles of Time by Sandra Lattuca

Pebbles of Time by Sandra Lattuca
Exhibiting at Fractals of Como

“I have always loved pebbles as much as I love crystals…”

Inspired by long walks beneath the medieval archways of Como, Pebbles of Time captures the quiet poetry of stone shaped by centuries. The intricate mosaic forms echo the cobbled pathways of the lake — surfaces softened by nature, kissed by moss, and worn smooth by time.

At the heart of the composition, two lovers emerge as enduring companions — held within concentric patterns that resemble pebbles, crystals, and ripples in water. The circular forms suggest continuity, memory, and the layered nature of love itself. Earthy ochres, muted greens, and mineral blues create a grounded yet luminous palette, balancing strength with tenderness.

This work reflects the idea that love, like stone, is shaped slowly — by weather, by experience, by presence. The figures remain constant while the world moves around them.
